Project: MUSIC & ART FOR ALL (temporary name)
a youth led and focused program with the goal to produce a collaborated album with young and upcoming artists of all backgrounds.
What exactly is our project?
Our project is one built and based on collaboration, for the bands & artists, by the bands & artists. We want everyone to be scratching each other's back and we want everyone to get a bit out of this project as well as also learn a bit. At its core its going to be a collaborative album made up of young and upcoming bands/music artists of all genres & backgrounds released digitally and physically. As well as this we want young and upcoming artists, graphic designers, photographers and creatives alike to have their voice heard too by showcasing their art on the album, in promotion materials, zines, merch and whatever they like! We will also be hosting a manor of free/pay what you can showcase gigs across 2027 to show off the bands we work with and have selected for the project. Another part of our project is hosting and curating workshops to help the bands create and upcycle their own merch, learn promotion skills and also ways to find gigs outside of ETR. We will also be providing opportunities to certain young individuals to work closely within in our recording and media teams to get some hands on experience in the studio or shooting at gigs.

Why and how?
ETR are finally becoming Extra Terrestrial Records and are taking on its very first recording project and we want to do it the right way. This is because we realised from our own experience being in several bands and recording and attempting scrape by at sessions, as well as seeing so many talented young bands go years without releasing a song, that there is an imbalance in the industry. Bands who deserve the limelight are getting priced out of recording sessions and most of the time its not even the studios fault. Punk labels are dead, alternative labels are dead, indie labels as a whole are dying, bands are being stomped on with a big economically excluding boot.
We want to change that, that's why we have set out to get bands FREE recording sessions to help bands come together to produce not only their music but also to join together on a collaborative album. However... this has not been possible for ETR as like everybody else we have no money and we weren't about to start overcharging our shows just to be able to get a chance to record people. We didnt want to take anyone else's money and we wanted to keep our DIY values in check, so instead we thought to apply for some funding instead for this particular project instead.
After a lengthy period of time of searching we found Youth Music, and they have decided to help us with our project!
ETR are run and founded by a young diverse group of LGBTQ+, Neuro-diverse and disabled people and our main goal at its core is provide a home base and comfortable space for "the alienated to feel less alien" and to help artists who feel alienated to thrive and have a place to perform and record and to belong. This project will allow us to take this message into fruition without needless industry exploitation and without pricing anyone out, like old DIY ethics of punk past. Hopefully this is our first project of many, massive thanks to Youth Music and Arts council England.

How do I get involved?
First of we want to say what we are looking for. We focus on the youth of course so roughly anyone under the age of 23 can apply. We encourage anyone and everyone who feel alienated due to being Neurodiverse, disabled or identifying with the LGBTQ+, or in any other way or even if you aren't! We don't exclude we want everyone to be heard and considered.

If you are in a band or a music artist there is a signup form where you can submit your music etc and we will listen to ALL applications and pick all of our bands by the end of the year.
